We're looking forward to what we think is going to be the best OSCON yet. Here's some information to help you get the most out of your time at the convention.

Complimentary MAX Passes for OSCON Attendees

Fares are now required throughout the MAX system, Portland's light rail system. Travel Portland is making available to OSCON attendees complimentary MAX light rail transit passes good for free rides on any MAX rail line for the entire week of OSCON (July 19 - July 25).

Registration / Check-in Hours

Stop by Registration to pick up your badge and other materials. Registration is located in Pre-Function D (outside Exhibit Hall D).

PRO TIP: Avoid the Sunday morning lines and pick up your badge Saturday afternoon. We'll have complimentary food and beverages for all you early birds!

If you are speaking at OSCON, please check-in and pick up your badge at the Speaker Lounge, located in in room D131-132 off the Ginkoberry Concourse.

Expo Hall Hours

Events

Make sure to join us at one (or all) of the special events planned at OSCON, including morning yoga, Ignite, OSCON Elements Attendee Party, the 5K glow run/walk, Booth Crawl, BoFs, Office Hours with speakers at the O'Reilly Booth, and plenty of parties.

OSCON Office Hours

Office Hours give you a chance to meet face-to-face Tuesday and Wednesday in a small group setting with OSCON expert presenters at the O'Reilly Booth in the Expo Hall. Discuss the speaker's area of expertise, give feedback about their sessions, or ask questions. Seats are limited, so sign up now and we'll send you a reminder. See the schedule and list of participating speakers.

Tribe Tables at Lunch

Find and connect with other like-minded people during lunch at tables designated for certain languages, technologies, and interests. Look for the signs on the tables near the buffet lines each day at lunch: Android, Apache, BOFH, Community leadership, Data, Fitness, go build, Hadoop, Hardware, Java, Javascript, JVM Langs, Lambda, Mobile, Node.js, Perl, PHP, Pythonistas, Scala, Scaling, UX Designers, Visualization, Women in OS.

Play the Puzzle Game and Win Prizes

All of you programmers and developers excel at solving problems by building things, so we’re putting those skills to the test. We’ve created a set of 20 different blocks and distributed the pieces throughout OSCON. Each block has part of an image printed on it. The first 500 attendees to collect all 20 blocks and assemble them correctly to reveal the image will be awarded an OSCON hoodie – and will also be entered in a drawing to win additional bonus prizes. Wireless Internet Access

Wireless Internet will be available throughout the conference area. There is no password required to access the OSCON wireless network. Please keep in mind that you're sharing the network with your fellow OSCON attendees, so please refrain from downloading large files while on the conference network. If you need assistance getting online, please visit the customer service desk in Registration or send a message to @oscon.

Official OSCON T-shirt

If your pass includes the official OSCON t-shirt, you can pick it up at Registration starting at 10:00am Tuesday, July 22.

Live Streaming, Speaker Slides, and Video Recordings

Live Streaming
We will be live streaming all of the keynote presentations on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. (View the live stream schedule.) These presentations will also be available for viewing on the OSCON YouTube channel after the convention.

Speaker Slides

We'll be posting speaker slides as we get them; however keep in mind not all speakers choose to make their slides available for download.

Video Recordings
We will be recording all sessions in the at OSCON (subject to the permission of the presenter). The video will be available for purchase approximately three to four weeks after OSCON on shop.oreilly.com. If you have an All-Access Pass, the video compilation is already included with your pass.

Online Attendee Directory

The Online Attendee Directory for OSCON is open. See who else will be at OSCON this year, set up your personal profile, message other attendees, and manage your contacts. You must be registered for the event and have opted-in to the Attendee Directory to begin using it.

Set Up Your Personal Schedule

Create your own OSCON agenda using the personal scheduler function. Mark the presentations and events you want to attend by clicking on the calendar icon next to each listing on the website. You can then access it by clicking on the "personal schedule" link in the Schedule View page.

Printed versions of the daily schedule will also be available throughout the conference area.

Rate or Comment on the Tutorials and Sessions You Attend

Have a question or comment for a speaker? Post them in the "Add New Comment" field found at the bottom of any session detail page. Please keep in mind that your comments will be public.

You can also rate any of the sessions you attend on the OSCON mobile app. Just click on the set of stars on the session description page to submit your rating.

Media

Our goal is to capture the excitement of our conferences, and you may see photographers or videographers (including ones we've hired) documenting this event. It's possible that you would appear in some of these shots. We also encourage attendees to share their conference experiences through social media. We invite you to speak directly with any photographer if you have concerns about their activities. Photos or videos taken by or on behalf of O'Reilly may be posted on one or more of our sites or used in future marketing materials and publications.

Author Book Signings in the O'Reilly Booth

Author book signings are being held on Tuesday and Wednesday at the O'Reilly Booth. The first 25 attendees will receive a complimentary autographed copy of each book. Limit 1 book per attendee. See the author signings page for details.

We will also be giving away discount coupons good for 40% off print and 50% off ebooks. Stop by the O'Reilly booth to pick one up.
