THIS TUTORIAL HAS REQUIREMENTS AND INSTRUCTIONS LISTED BELOW

In this tutorial, you will learn how to quickly create mobile apps for iOS, Android, Windows Phone or mobile browsers.

  • We will review the important mobile features of standards like HTML5 and CSS.
  • You will learn how to use a mobile UI framework (jQuery Mobile),
  • We will package your app with a native bridge (PhoneGap)
  • Use a hardware feature like geolocation.
  • Add app features with a Backend-as-a-Service (open-source Usergrid).

By the end of the workshop, we will have built a full-featured app, ready for release (or distribution on an app store), without having written a single line of server-side code.

This workshop will be comprised of a 30-minute overview of the topics and technologies, and 2 and a half hours of hands-on coding through an example app, step by step, with plenty of time to follow along on your own computer and ask questions.

TUTORIAL REQUIREMENTS AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR ATTENDEES

Participants need to come with your laptop prepared to meet two requirements:
* have a working install of Usergrid and,
* have a working install of PhoneGap
