Bosh was initially developed to manage the Cloud Foundry PaaS, but as it is a large scale distributed application, bosh turned into a genreal purpose orchestration tool chain that can handle any application.
This session will show you how to take an existing application, package it for bosh and deploy it on OpenStack, and then upgrade and manage it not only by scaling out the number of virtual machines, but also scaling up the virtual machines it is using.
Currently bosh supports four different IaaS providers: OpenStack, AWS, vSphere & vCloud.
Jeffrey Peckham has 5 years experience developing, deploying, and maintaining large production environments in various contexts including education, ecommerce, and cloud providers. Currently works as a developer on Cloud Foundry, he holds a BS in Computer Science from Eastern Michigan University. Jeffrey is a Level 5 Lawful Neutral Human Devop. His hobbies include playing D&D with friends and writing deployment tools in his spare time.
