Asynchronous messaging is not only for enterprise applications. In recent years we saw a boom in message broker usage in web and mobile applications. Developers exchanging messages with the broker directly from the web browser and mobile applications. This talk will dive deep into modern protocols like Stomp and MQTT, which provide an excellent platform for lightweight asynchronous messaging. It will explain what they bring to developers and how to choose appropriate one for your use case. We will also discuss the usage of standard Web mechanisms like Ajax, WebSockets, REST and Web hooks in messaging context and how to use them with Apache ActiveMQ.
