Your body is a machine. If you jog or run, then by mixing things up, you can help make that machine run more efficiently. Running faster is, in short, a performance optimisatioon problem.
The body is made up of a number of sub-systems that go into running performance: the cardio-vascular system, muscle strength, mental resistance, and running mechanics.
This talk will cover the basics of how to establish a performance baseline, constructing a training program to improve performance by targeting specific subsystems with specific types of training session, and then measuring the improvements.
