Storytelling has been integral to the human experience since the tale of Gilgamesh. Through stories we create a framework to understand ourselves and the world around us, placing context and meaning to our experiences. Design, similarly, is largely concerned with invoking understanding within the user. Because of this, we can look at good storytelling to help guide good design. Concepts such as simplicity, internal consistency, structure, flow, and emotional resonance are all key forces in creating stories within our designs; by honing our craft at telling stories we inevitably hone our ability to create meaningful products.
Currently the Lead Designer at Nebula Inc, Paul’s background includes designing mobile, desktop, and entertainment system experiences at frog design for clients like Nokia, Microsoft, and Samsung.
