He’s a PSF member, and won the 2002 Activators’ Choice Award and the 2006 Frank Willison Award for contributions to the Python community. He works as Senior Staff Engineer for Google. Good try, but the somewhat-undirected session inevitably flowed towards political discussions (not productive). Stronger session management a must for such important but difficult subjects!

"Excessive differentiation" happens in open source in vast amounts (think about the number of OS programming languages!) yet hasn't slowed it down, so the case that excessive differentiation is bad...

A more structured overview of what all MS is doing with/to Open Source would have provided more easily digestible information than the somewhat rambling free-flow interview did.

Interesting data -- presenting more such data would have made the talk even better (info on Boss and Blue Host could have been shrunk and mostly replaced with URLs and invitations to visit the boot...
