Adrian Cole (jclouds)
You've heard about NoSQL. You've heard about the Cloud. What if you could spin up something like HBase in a couple minutes and try out both at the same time. By the end of this session, you'll learn how to do just that, in a way portable across several NoSQL projects and dozens of compute clouds.
Brian Aker (HP)
Ever wondered what would happen if you could rethink a decade worth of design changes? Drizzle is a redesign of the MySQL server targeted at web development and cloud infrastructure. Update yourself on the latest features, and use cases for Drizzle7 and what is in store for the near future.
Stewart Smith (Percona)
Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it. This is part survey, part critique of the various Atomicity, Consistency, Isolation and Durability models available from various modern databases and data stores used in modern Web and Cloud environments.
Theo Schlossnagle (OmniTI/Circonus)
The art of dealing with real-time data is not new. In fact, much of the world's economy is propped up my making decisions on data sub milliseconds. The technology is there, we have the power. We'll take a whirlwind tour of the open-source Esper system and understand how to integrate it into your stack to enable rapid decision making on real-time data from anywhere in your architecture.
Michael Malone (SimpleGeo)
Apache Cassandra is a powerful new distributed database system that, when used correctly, provides a simple framework for managing large, rapidly changing, and/or high value datasets. But Cassandra is a bit rough around the edges. In particular, the system has a reputation for being unforgiving when misconfigured or burdened with unusual work loads.
A.Sinan Unur (Unur)
HTML5's canvas element allows graphics generation to be offloaded to the client's web browser. Various Perl modules make it easy to take data in various "spreadsheet" formats and turn them into easily chartable data. This presentation will demonstrate a simple web application built using Perl's Dancer to tie these elements together.
