Dean Wampler is the architect for big data products at Typesafe. He specializes in scalable, distributed, big data and IoT systems using Spark, Mesos, and Akka. Dean is a contributor to several open-source projects. He’s also the co-organizer of several conferences around the world and several user groups in Chicago. He is the author of Programming Scala, 2nd Ed. and Functional Programming for Java Developers, and the co-author of Programming Hive, all from O’Reilly Media.
