Extreme code reuse with GWT and Maven shade plugin

The Google Web Toolkit (GWT) can cross-compile most Java to JavaScript, but not all of it. If you’d like to reuse some Java classes but they inherit some GWT-unfriendly code, the Maven shade plugin can help.

While walking you through a true-life scenario from The Platform (http://theplatform.com), Curtis will teach you how to:

  • configure the Maven shade plugin
  • override or exclude classes
  • repackage Maven artifacts for GWT
  • emulate and deploy missing JRE classes
