HTTP continues to be the dominant application-level protocol for the Web today; How long will that last? The REST style of implementing solutions over HTTP continues to be controversial even while it’s use grows. More than a decade after it’s introduction, few established Web frameworks or libraries offer support for core REST principles such as hypermedia-driven workflows and stateless interactions. As the browser becomes more powerful and Mobile device use continues to grow, is REST the right way to build Web apps today?

Attendees are invited to join in a lively discussion regarding the current state and future of HTTP; the REST style as a paradigm for implementing highly interactive applications, and the way current frameworks and libraries support HTTP on the Web.
