Developed initially at Yahoo and released under the apache license the zookeeper project should be of interest to anyone building or managing distributed systems.
Instead of implementing code within each service to provide coordination and failover management using Zookeeper for that purpose can lead to a much cleaner implementation. ZooKeeper allows straightforward provisioning of common distributed services – such as naming, configuration management, synchronization, and group services – in a simple interface. Use ZooKeeper to implement and manage consensus, group management, leader election, and presence protocols.
This session will show you how to set up and configure Zookeeper, and some cookbook examples of zookeeper in use.
