Learn how to build an Android application using its building blocks: Activities, Services, Receivers and Providers. In this example-driven tutorial, you will learn what Android building blocks are and their characteristics. Next, we’ll design an application using these blocks and explain their interaction. Finally, you will build this application. Code snippets will be provided to you as well as a preconfigured environment so that you can be productive right away (laptop required).
By the end of this tutorial, you should know how an Android application works and what component serves what purpose. You will also know how to tackle designing your own application and where to look for further resources.

Content was very thorough, but delivery was quite dry.
I’m new to Android, and I learned a lot in this session. This was a good session to start the conference.
