Jessamyn graduated from Computer Engineering at the University of Alberta, in Edmonton, Canada. Since then, she has been working as a software developer in C, Python, Java, and PHP (not all at the same time). She has also taken number of graduate CS courses at OGI. She currently works at FreshBooks, in Toronto, Canada, where she is on a mission of refactoring and unit testing legacy PHP.
