Jay Lyman covers enterprise applications, IT systems management and the trends at the core of disruption in these areas – including open source software, cloud computing, the confluence of application development and deployment known as devops, mobility, and polyglot programming. Jay’s analysis encompasses evolving software development and release models, as well as the technology used to create, deploy and support applications in today’s enterprise and service-provider markets.

As a 451 Research analyst, Jay has been a speaker at numerous industry events, including Devops Days, LinuxCon, the Open Source Business Conference and OSCON, covering topics such as cloud computing, mobile software, devops and enterprise case studies.

Prior to joining 451 Research, Jay wrote for a number of IT publications, including LinuxInsider and TechNewsWorld, NewsForge/Linux.com, Web Host Industry Review and CMP Media, where he covered software and IT infrastructure, development and products, as well as other technology and business topics. He has also written for other news organizations, including the Associated Press, Los Angeles Times and Time Magazine. Jay holds a BA in Journalism from San Diego State University.
