Securing Memcache, or Tales From Encryption

Most memcache users today don’t think too much about security, but as usage of memcache grows into the enterprise and further into the cloud, security becomes more and more of an issue. As of today, the bulk of memcache data flies around unencrypted. However, it is now possible to encrypt the data using the CyaSSL embedded SSL library from within memcache. The story of adding CyaSSL to memcache will be told. An overview of using it will be given. Performance benchmarking will be covered. User profiles, when and why they should use it will be described.
