Perl 5.12 is the latest major release of Perl 5. In addition to new features and numerous bugfixes, this release marks a major change in how we develop and release Perl. Come learn about how we’re refactoring the language and the community.
The “language” side of this talk will cover new language features in Perl 5.12, demonstrate significant bug fixes and explore features and fixes we opted not to include in 5.12.
The “community” side of this talk will cover how we’ve been evolving Perl 5’s development processes over the past year and where we’re heading over the next few.
