Since winning the Web 2.0 Expo LaunchPad competition last year, PhoneGap has been widely recognized as a game-changer for mobile app development. The open source code has been downloaded more than 100,000 times and hundreds of apps built using PhoneGap are available in mobile app stores and directories.
Now’s your chance to find out what the buzz is all about. In this introductory session, PhoneGap key collaborators will show you how to use PhoneGap to build platform-neutral mobile applications with HTML, CSS and JavaScript that access device features like accelerometer, GPS, camera and contacts.
If you’re a web developer, mobile developer, mobile designer or a project manager in charge of mobile development, this session will help you decide whether or not the PhoneGap open source framework is right for your mobile development projects.
Brian LeRoux is the lead software architect at Nitobi Inc. where he focuses on delivering apps and helping developers all over the world write their apps. Contributor to PhoneGap and creator of XUI and Lawnchair. Suffice to say, Brian believes that the future of the internets is mobile and will rely on web standards, open source and hackers like you.
Filip Maj is a software engineer at Nitobi where he works on the PhoneGap framework and other mobile and web app projects. He’s part of the PhoneGap training team and has been teaching developers across North America how to put PhoneGap to work for their own mobile development projects.
