Tom Van Cutsem is a researcher at the Software Languages Lab of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium, where he received his PhD in 2008 on the topic of object designation in mobile ad hoc networks. His area of expertise is programming language technology, with a focus on concurrent and distributed systems. He is one of the lead designers of the programming language AmbientTalk, a JVM-compatible scripting language for mobile phones.
