Mike Müller is CEO of Python Academy in Leipzig, Germany (http://www.python-academy.com) specializing in Python teaching and consulting. He has been teaching Python since 2004 and since 2006 at the Python Academy becoming its CEO in the beginning of 2010.
He is a PSF member and tries to help to develop the Python community. He initiated and chaired the organization of two workshops “Python in the German Speaking Areas” as well as the first two EuroSciPy conferences in Leipzig, Germany.
His courses cover introductions to Python as well as special topics such as extending Python with other languages, optimization, GUI or database programming. Being an engineer who also works in research projects, he uses numerous scientific Python packages on a daily basis and, therefore, also offers a course “Python for Scientist and Engineers” (http://www.python-academy.com/courses/python_course_scientists.html).
Besides his Python training activities in Europe, the US, and Asia he consults and programs scientific software in Python frequently interfacing his code with other programming languages.
When he does not teach or program, he spends time with his wife and his two kids or works out and swims.
