If you had five minutes on stage what would you say? What if you only got 20 slides and they rotated automatically after 15 seconds? Would you pitch a project? Launch a web site? Teach a hack? We’re going to find out when we try our first Ignite event at OSCON. Damian Conway is scheduled to end OSCON Ignite in style.
Ignite OSCON will take place Tuesday, July 21 at 7:30. Submit your proposal by July 1.

The Kindle talk Rocked!
Anyone know how to get portions of this? If I wanted to link to a specific ignite speech is there any way to get link directly to that?
The first talk about hacking the Kindle is brilliant. The guy just couldn’t stop taking it apart (see video of Ignite talk).
This event worked well. There was a nice variety of talks, much broader than I expected, and the steady flow of slides keeps the pace quick.
I loved that it was sandwiched around the Google O’Reilly Open Source Awards. Great use of time, IMO.
I like the format of this. 5 minutes is a very short period of time, but I believe the speakers did VERY well. It shows that the right speakers were chosen for this event.
