Languages like Erlang, Haskell, Scala and Clojure have been gaining visibility rapidly over the past few years. Our panel will discuss the advantages and challenges of developing and deploying software using functional languages. How do coding, QA, and maintenance change in this world? Would any of them trade their chosen language for another functional language, or return to a more traditional approach?
Bryan O’Sullivan is an Irish hacker and writer based in San Francisco. His main interests are in functional programming and distributed systems. He wrote O’Reilly’s book “Real World Haskell” and is currently working on a new title for O’Reilly.
