If you’ve been to the Maker Faire or read the book “Making Things Talk”, this BOF’s for you. Come see the wacky, wireless radar built on Arduino OpenSource electronics prototyping platform, the Twitter Cube, and other fun, inventive projects presented by the Silicon Valley OpenSolaris User Group (SVOSGU).

This was a nice BOF, and it was good to see some of the gadgets that folks are making. When I was working at Sun, I had a hard time showing a business case for arduinos, maker controllers, or other cools stuff to develop on. What a surprise to see the Maker Shed at OSCON, this is a perfect fit for open source development.
There will be more of this type of development in the future, you can bet on it.
Great BOF, great folks, and a bunch of new faces which only proves that this topic is of interest to many.
Regards, Alan
I don’t think high tech should be “all work and no play,” and the OpenSolaris BoF was a great demo of how to have a little fun when the work is done.
sounds interesting, too bad i didn’t make it
