IronRuby: The Road to 1.0

John Lam (Microsoft)
Ruby
Location: Portland 251

IronRuby is Microsoft’s open source implementation of Ruby. John Lam will update you on where they are today, how they got here, and where they have to go to get to 1.0.

They measure success based on the real apps that they run. This forces them to have a high bar for compatibility in their libraries, which is where most of their effort goes. Lam will show you how they write the libraries, how their tools help, and how they use them to get the most out of their awesome community.
